Red Cross Blood Drive Was a Success

On behalf of Parks and Recreation and myself, we would like to extend our appreciation to everyone for helping to make this blood drive a huge success.
During the blood drive yesterday, a total of 46 units of blood were collected. This number greatly exceeded the target set by the Red Cross, and the staffing they provided.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as they went through the donation process. We were extremely pleased to see a constant flow of donors coming through the door, producing this incredible amount of blood. Based on the number blood units collected, this drive will contribute in saving no less than 138 lives, along with replenishing the blood used by our Records Clerk who remains in Critical Care.

There were donors from several outside law enforcement agencies, including, the Irvine Police Department, the Anaheim Police Department, the California Highway Patrol and the Orange County District Attorney’s office. I was pleased to see employees coming together from every Division and Department from within the City of Tustin, including the line level employees, Supervisors, Division Directors and the City Council.

Again, from Sarah King, Liz Allen and myself, along with the Tustin Police Department family, THANK YOU
